Default store credit ONLY, no cash back

Burlington Coat Factory had a policy that if you return something with or without a receipt that you ONLY get store credit, no cash back or whatever. I went in one day, this man was out of town, bought something for Christmas, and just wanted his money back. He had the receipt and everything. They told him he could only get store credit. He was like I don't shop here, I don't live here, I want my money back so I can buy "so and so" something else somewhere else. I don't know what the end result was but that store policy sucked, because hey, what if you don't normally shop there or whatever, like store credit you may not even like what the store offers or even has at the moment.
