It was not hard to miss, not so much the plane buzzing, but the sign.
For about 15 minutes Friday morning, a small plane towing a banner circled the Tioga Hotel in Coos Bay. The plane, from Chico, Calif., was hired by Greg Stevens to fly around the building housing Kelley KinKade’s business, Kelley’s Accounting and Tax Service. The message on the sign was plain to see, too. "KELLEY WILL YOU MARRY ME? (love) GREG" ![]() Besides hiring the plane and banner, Stevens also had the event and his proposal video taped. Stevens got down on his knee on the corner of Broadway Avenue and Market Street and proposed to a surprised KinKade. She was the only one who did not know about the proposal. Her family and the staff in the office all knew it was going to happen. The plane proposal was supposed to happen the day before, on Valentine’s Day, but bad weather delayed the flight. Oh, but KinKade didn't delay. She said "yes." |
