Default Carpet cleaning can remove dust mites, mold, mildew, fungus

Many people think that carpets and allergies are a bad combination. Even some allergists will encourage their patients to remove carpeting in favor of hardwood or tile floors. However, carpets can actually help to reduce the allergens in your home by trapping them, as long as they are properly cleaned on a regular schedule.

Even dust mites, mold, mildew, fungus, and allergens are easily and effectively removed with proper carpet cleaning. Unlike other flooring, carpet keeps allergens locked inside. Prior to removal, allergens are trapped within the carpet pile fibers. Simple walking will not move those allergens out of the carpet. On the other hand, tile or hardwood floors allow allergens to become airborne with each footstep.

The issue with carpet is proper cleaning.

There are two main types of carpet cleaners you can purchase for your home. The one that most of us are familiar with is the hot water extraction cleaner. You've probably heard it called a steam cleaner. This cleaner will leave your carpets fairly wet after cleaning.

The newer technology is the vapor steam cleaner. In many ways it is the superior choice for those with allergies.

While you can always rent or buy a cleaning system for use at home, you can also hire a professional cleaning service to handle your home's carpets. Be sure to ask what they can do for allergy sufferers. Ask if the companies process inhibits the return of mold, dust mites, mildew and fungi. Also be sure to ask what chemicals, if any, are used in the cleaning process; in order to reduce your family's exposure to other potential allergens.
